Shot without compensation, no other changes then cropping.
AND: shot with a cheap 18-135, not an expensive 400 mm...

I know: sharp from wingtip to wingtip.
If only Canon could ;-)

It's a decent capture, but proves 0, zilch, nada, etc.
What's more interesting is your sucking Bret by emulating his all caps
braggadocio.

I beg to differ:
A. everything is sharp
B. the colors are correct
So:
A. I'm a better photographer
B. the D300 outperforms the 5D MII
C. both of the above

It was meant to be sarcastic.
What is braggadocio? I don't speak African ;-)

Of course. But you show his ownership.

Er, "African" is not a language; there are hundreds of languages spoken
on that continent.

Kindly remove aus.photo from your cross-posting.
Why? They don't understand English down under? Is aus.photo not about
photography?

Not on the first reply. My bad.

Stop your x-x-post campaign, will ya?.
You're obviously not very good at it.

You're poor at reading and comprehending a whole thread before going of
half-cocked. I posted a correction about one minute later.
So stop yourself!

Gee! I didn't see that!!!! (yeah, right :-> )

I can't. But I did fix your newsgroup distro list for you above. And
you're very welcome.
Yeah, I know. You played right along: Excellent!

Re-fixed.
Try to understand that a lot of folk don't appreciate the excess
x-posting that a handful foist onto the group.

That was not a quizz, it was a request.

Correct.

Incorrect. What that poster asks - politely so far but not for much longer
given stupidity once again seems to be surfacing - is that posts with subject
lines in uppercase promoting a specific type of camera with photos not relevant
to Australia not be cross-posted to aus.photo.
That is completely different from folks "caring about cross-posting to aus.photo".
Cross-posting, although not a 100% clean posting habit, is not the problem. The
problem is the shouted subjects advertising specific types of equipment with
totally irrelevant example photos.
See if for once you can get it right, OK?

Good. Stay there, then.

So you admit that you can't get a good shot with the 5D MII, because these
were made with the 40D...
Nice shots, but I've never seen a seagull so white. Did you wash them with
bleach first?
Of course the flash in the first doesn't really help for a natural photo.
