On Linux systems (Fedora 16), what software would you
recommend to convert DNG files to JPG and TIFF?

Thanks,
Mike.

Some combination of ImageMagick
(http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php) and DCRaw
(http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/), possibly front-ended by UFRaw
(http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/).

UFRAW - same as I use to convert camera raw files.

UFraw or even within the Gimp (which I believe either needs UFraw or is
distributed with it).

Neither. GIMP and UFRAW are entirely distinct separate
distributions. However, UFRAW can be compiled as a
plug-in for GIMP and used as a frontend to initiate the
processing of RAW file generated images with GIMP.

you can open into gimp with the ufraw plugin or you can open into digikam
(or other KIPI enabled software) which uses the DNG KIPI plugin. You can
just right click and do an open with /program-of-choice and away you go.

I use it for my ordinary RAW files, but I seem to remember that it
refuses to process DNGs converted by Adobe Raw Converter from original
RAW files (but supports DNG files issued directly by some high-end
cameras). I may be remembering wrong, of course.
