My story
On 11/28 I searched the web for reasonable prices on a CP 950. I ordered
one from MPC via the web. On the following Tuesday they called to say I had
ordered two (I had not), but that gave them an opportunity to pitch to my
wife their vastly overpriced addons. Gullible that she was, she said yes to
several.

Two weeks later the camera arrived. On opening the package I looked for the
warranty card. There was none. I contacted Nikon USA. They reported that
the camera was a gray market device NOT covered by their US warranty. I
immediately contacted MPC and after being shuffled between several jerks I
got someone who called himself David Waters. I explained what Nikon told
me. He argued with me. I asked for a RMA to send the whole package back
for a complete refund. Finally he agreed that it was a Gray Market model
and offered to replace it with a CP990 (in place of the 950) that did in
fact have a Nikon USA warranty. Foolishly I said O.K. and returned the
original camera. They received it two days later.

It's now 48 days since the original order and 23 days since they received
the returned 950 What was in the package that arrived today? Not a 990
but a 950, although this one has a US warranty. I give up!

Will I ever again consider buying from MPC (or any Camera Store located in
Brooklyn, for that matter)? NEVER, NEVER, NEVER! BEWARE - they ship
Gray Market products! They'll screw you every time..

Are you reading this David Waters, or someone else at MPC?

Folks, why does this continue to happen? Don Wiss has repeatedly stood on
his head and taken heat to warn us all of the Brooklyn dealers. We
dislike painting Brooklyn with a broad brush but there is only the rare
exception.
