Dear Sirs
Our products are targeted to two markets.
One is the printing industry, pre-press sector: the "Sepcol line"
product range is to be used for the production of films and separations
for screen, offset and flexo printing.

The other market is the digital printing one, with our new line of
"Outdoorlac" indelible inkjet inks, waterproof and UV-resistant, which
can be printed on all types of substrates.

In the pre-press area, the Prim Jet Color System makes it possible to
adopt a new production process to obtain either "positive" or
"negative" digital films, for line work as well as for 4-color
production, always using an inkjet printer, be it a small or wide-format
printer (plotter).
The quality of the output is high and depends exclusively on the quality
of the printer and of the software (RIP), not from that of our inks and
substrates. The quality level, which can be reached today, is that of a
traditional 160 lines-per-inch printing.

Positive films are produced using our special black ink on our own
specially coated 100-micron polyester, whose transparent coating
captures the black droplets and contributes to its high maximum density.

Negative films are produced with a black coating, which is detached by
the special "Inverter" ink, and then removed (with plain water) once the
film is taken off from the printer. The negative film will be on the
market by January 1999.In both cases, the films do not need development
or fixing, therefore no chemicals are involved

The unique aspect of the Prim Jet Color system is that it allows the
digital production of BOTH color proofs AND separations using the same
data base and the same hardware. It offers the advantage of producing
the color proofs BEFORE producing the separations - any correction or
modification made and controlled on the proof, will automatically be
adopted in the making of the separations , a fool-proof procedure. The
UV density of both films is perfect: Dmin = 0,12, while DMax is over
4.0 (masking film DMax UV is about 3,5).

This production process offers the following advantages:
1) LOW COSTS for a good-quality job. A good printer, such as the Epson
3000 1440x720 dpi, and a good plotter such as the Mutoh Falcon Graph
720x720 dpi, with an appropriate RIP, reach a high level of quality,
with a very limited purchase price. For low production volumes, one
printer alone can be used to produce both color
proofs and separations.
Also the variable costs are reduced to a minimum: one color proof (or
one separation) 210x290 mm - 8x11.5 inches costs to the European
end-user about one US dollar, substrate and ink included. and a printed
A4+ positive film about US dollar 1.7.
2) PRECISION and REPEATABILITY
The whole process takes place at room temperature: no distortions,
therefore no problems in the preparation of separations for 4-color
printing. Using the Mutoh plotter, it is possible to produce first a
color proof (control of colors AND of the imposition), then the four
separations also in plate size (70x100 cm), with no mountings.
Today's results, achievable with a good printer (Epson 3000 or Mutoh
Falcon Graph) and a good RIP can reach the definition and quality of
traditional 70 lines per cm printing.
Our inks can be used with any inkjet printer/plotter, be it piezo or
bubble-jet (in other words, the Epson, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland makers on
the one hand, the HP, Canon, Encad Océ, Selex machines on the other.
Attention
should be paid on the cartridge or refill question.
We sell our liquids in 120 ml ,in 500 ml refills and in 10 liter can .
We can provide both empty and filled cartridges for the Epson PRO, PRO+,
PRO XL, 800, 850,
1520, 3000.In preparation H.P. & Canon

Digital Printing: OUTDOORLAC

Prim Jet Color is about to introduce (by 1999 first quarter)
"Outdoorlac", a range of indelible inks, which can be used in standard
inkjet small & wide-format printers (be it bubble-jet or piezo
technology).

It is likely that this product range will consist of different types of
inks, all with brilliant colors, with different characteristics (and
prices).
UV-resistant inks
UV-resistant and water-proof inks
Indelible inks which may be printed on a variety of standard substrates:

plain paper, glossy papers and cards, PVC, polyester, vinyl
(self-adhesive or not), transparent films.

Recently, at Grafitalia, CeBIT and at IPEX as well, some demos have been
made by some plotter houses about inkjet inks printed on PVC, vinyl and
other materials.
Actually this claim was not true, since they were NOT
being printed on vinyl, but on an 80-micron silica coating applied to
that vinyl, PVC or paper, so that the silica would take in the ink and
protect it from water.
This implies that
a) the substrate is 7 to 10 times more expensive than a plain vinyl or
polyester sheet sold by one of the many office supplies providers. Ink
can be used to cover only 10- 20% of the surface, but one has anyhow to
pay for
100% of the substrate: it is the cost of the substrate, which matters!

b) one cannot use these inks on standard substrates normally available
at any shop, such as self-adhesive polyester or PVC labels.

c) colors, absorbed by the silica, are not brilliant
Outdoorlac inks allow the printing of posters without protective
lamination, as well as the direct printing of short production runs of
brochures and dépliants, or of indelible business cards or labels.
Indelible inks offer a unique solution for direct printing of digital
photos.

Any inkjet printer can be used to produce in-house self-adhesive
"technical" labels (solid, indelible black, on a silver-like polyester
label) and/or labels with the colored Company's logo and solid black bar
code and text. An Epson 3000 (it has a tractor to handle perforated
substrates) can print from one to more than 5,000 labels, modifying the
text (and/or the language) every X labels, and can work at night,
unattended.
All these substrates can be purchased from Prim Jet Color organization
with the most convenient price/quality ratio, with the assurance of
availability of the material and prompt supply at any moment.

Best regards
Christian Airaut
