OK here's my comments - took me 2 days to write!

--------------

Tim Conway 1 : A nice picture of a label, but I don't know the point of it...
just an example of macro I guess?

Tim Conway 2 : The berries and foreground seem to be out of focus, and the back
plate is cut off, which IS in focus.

Tim Conway 3 : Again, the subject seems quite blurry.

Savageduck 1 : An interesting photo, somewhat abstract. Hard to tell what the
entire emblem actually looks like. Interesting reflections.

Savageduck 2 : Another emblem, I would have preferred a more head-on shot, but
it's cool.

Savageduck 3 : This emblem has nice texture... (my first car was a Buick but
newer...) I would have liked a bit wider crop to include the sides as well, it's
very tight.

RichardAnderson 1 : Interesting fungi, odd colors. You could have angled the
camera better to get more in focus, or cropped it tighter.

bowser 1 : Nice dandelion, the B/W works here. (Mine's in color!)

bowser 2 : Good textures, seems to have fractal qualities. Could be a floor,
could be a satellite picture of Mars!

bowser 3 : Nice helmet, very fine focus.

sid 1 : Holy brake disk Batman! Very interesting, the inside is focused rather
than the expected outside. One of my favorite.

sid 2 : A nice flower but the focus range is a bit narrow.

sid 3 : Very clear flower photo. Nice color balance between background and
foreground.

Frank Ess 1 : Nice contrast between the big bee and the tiny ant. Wish more of
the bee was in focus, especially with most of the background in focus.

Frank Ess 2 : Very interesting "what is it" photo, nice color balance.

Frank Ess 3 : This is a bit too weird for me... looks like a metal nipple?!

Dan Petre 1 : Humorous picture of a tiny car on a huge road! Nicely done!

Bob Flint 1 : I had lots of pic's of snails, this was the one that told a story.
(I spent an hour wrangling snails!)

Bob Flint 2 : I was surprised to get this dandelion completely in focus. The sun
was very bright on it, it was blinding white; and this looks quite dark because
of camera averaging, even though it fills the histogram.

Bob Flint 3 : I had lots of different photos of these flowers. I chose this one
because of the nice white textures and the large focus range, also because of
the overall shape. A happy pic.

Andrew Reilly 1 : I guess this is a pun on "close" and "up"...

Andrew Reilly 2 : The screen pattern is nice but the background shapes are
distracting, and the focus range could be wider in front.

Andrew Reilly 3 : I like this one better than the other, but the background is
still distracting. View just the thum and you will see.

MG Azalea : Don't like this photo, sorry! The cropping and framing are odd to
me!

MG craneflower : This is a very interesting flower! Would like to see a flock!
One of my favorites this month.

MG Ladybirds-Hibernating : I didn't know ladybugs did that! Nice picture but
could use a bit more contrast and saturation. The bugs I remember were much
brighter. Probably was a dull day.

Chemiker 1 : A very nice butterfly! I've never seen a black one.

Chemiker 2 : Interesting, are they valuable jewels?

Martha Coe 1 : A bit too busy, too much odd stuff. You could have gotten much
closer and just have maybe 3 or 4 flowers. The flower in front seems out of
place.

Martha Coe 2 : This could be cropped a bit closer as well, I'd like to see more
of the flower details.

Martha_Coe 3 : This is a very nice flower photo, but a bit too far for a
closeup. Any one of those flowers alone would have been great!

peter_newman 1 : Nice flower, nice color, but the center looks a bit fuzzy.

peter_newman 2 : This is really nice - a bit spooky! Good thing I don't do acid!
Another favorite!

peter_newman 3 : Nice colors but the photo comes up very small and there's no
option to make it larger... can't really see it.

Alan_Browne 3 : I guess this proves Alan sleeps with his camera! The segments
that are blured and the segments in focus are not in a linear plane... weird...

Alan_Browne 1 : Very nice spider shot. It's still a bit blurry with a 100mm so
it must be VERY tiny! A smaller aperture might have helped but then the ISO has
to go up.

Alan_Browne 2 : I would have preferred more focus range, but the front is
nice... f4?? Surely you could have upped that!

Tony_Cooper_I'm Available : Nice image but I'd like to see his face closer!

Tony_Cooper_Just A Pretty Face : So you heard me - this is a close face! Nicely
done! (Did you use the kit lens? That little D60 can take nice pic's.)

Tony_Cooper_Rose In Bloom : Now that's what I call a nice flower! Excellent!

Bret_Douglas_1 : That's sure a nice photo Mister! Did you try cropping out the
stems at the left?

Bret_Douglas_2 : This is very interesting! Is he trapped or just visiting? Wish
I'd thought of it! Unfortunately I don't have flowers like that.

Bret_Douglas_3 : Wow this is so cool! Probably the best macro shot here. (What
you mean 'probably', boy!)

The Sun was a major issue with all of the shots that day, here is a
different angle to give a better look at the front end of the 1949 MG
TC.

The problem with head-on shots with polished flat chrome surfaces, are
the unwanted self portraits.

This was a 1932 Buick Serie 60 Sedan. Here is a wider shot including
the AAA badge.

Seemed like an idea at the time...

Indeed, the thumbnails tell the tale. Pity I couldn't really do anything
about the background: the plant was where it was.

Thanks for the comments (all!) Very valuable to get additonal
perspectives, and a supply of clue-sticks.

Cheers,
