Now my test users are having the Windows Activation watermark show up in their desktop session. When I run the command "slmgr.vbs /dlv" it shows no license installed. I've confirmed this is only happening with EXISTING user layers, if I publish a desktop without user layers enabled Windows Activation shows correct, and if I log into a user layer-enabled desktop with a fresh user layer it's also good. I even remotely checked the log files under c:\windows\setup\scripts\kmsdir on a computer with nobody logged in and it all looks good. So, it seems like there's something stuck in our user layers that's overriding the normal Windows Activation process that happens when the desktop starts up. Has anyone had this type of issue before? I could probably create a scheduled task to re-run "slmgr /ato" at user login, but I'd rather do this the right/clean way if possible.

The way our scripting works is that from the kmssetup.cmd which should run from a boot gpo we call runipkato.cmd which the utility you are talking about loads with a script for the version of windows you are using, So for win10 enterprise its call runipkwin10e.cmd. That script does an

Well lets first make sure everyone knows the OEM downgrade rights and process, which are outlined in my How-to on Spiceworks here and from Microsoft here: Understanding downgrade rights Opens a new window.

Note to all voters to close: This is not a LEGAL advice - the poster asks about a technical implementation issue which is ok according to the board. Technically he does not ask about LICENSING (terms etc. - legal issue and VERY complicated) but how to activate his key (technical issue), and we do handle those here. Heck, for some parts of windows there are hugh guidelines for the technical side...

I want to open two websites in my browser (Firefox) and open Numbers. After that a Moom command is issued to put the browser on the left side of the screen and Numbers on the right side. What keeps happening is that there are two instances of Firefox being opened, one for each website, instead of one instance with two tabs. When the Moom command is issued only one of the browser windows is moved to the left and the other is left as it is.

I've found a solution of sorts. I've uninstalled VMWare 6.5 and installed my old 5.5 versions. My VMs run transparently between both the laptop (of course) and the new desktop. No 're-activate windows' messages, and frankly I'm thrilled to be back working.

Ok, maybe I was smokin' crack or something, but I can run a 5.5 VM under version 6.5 without running an upgrade on the VM. After re-intalling V6.5 on the desktop, I was able to open my old (5.5) VMs without any 'upgrade' warning message box. I don't think I imagined that warning, but I can't get it to come up now. For now, all my v5.5 VMs run without error on v6.5 and I don't get a prompt to reactivate windows--even when I run the VM on my new desktop. This is exactly what I need.

The output 0x8024A000 of the script seems to be an error code from Windows Update.

Are you sure that the windows update service itself is running and working fine ?

Maybe you can restart the service and open the windows update gui to see, if there are any errors.

Conclusions: These data indicate that major torso trauma (first hit) primes and activates PMNs within 3 to 6 hours after injury. Consequently, we postulate that postinjury priming of PMNs may create an early vulnerable window during which a second hit (e.g., a secondary operation or delayed hemorrhage) activates exuberant PMN O2- release, rendering the injured patient at high risk for MOF.

Ground floor storefront businesses can apply for this seasonal reimbursement grant to support the creation of window designs and displays. These creative activations encourage foot traffic and attract visitors to a more vibrant and welcoming Downtown retail environment.

Click on the Enter License Key button which will open the window where your License Key can be entered. When copying your License Key, make sure to copy the full License Key and make sure that there are no additional spaces or letters copied. We recommend you paste using the Paste from Clipboard option.

KMS is the default method of activation for all Duke windows users, and should be used whenever possible and/or applicable. Windows should activate automatically if connected to the Duke network or VPN.

While not highly restricted, we ask that if you connect to any Duke network on a regular basis that you use the KMS method of activation. If you are having difficulty activating via KMS, please try to troubleshoot the error before resorting to the MAK. We have a limited number of MAK activations available. You may request a special MAK by e-mailing site duke.edu. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by OIT. Students graduating or leaving Duke may not request a MAK to keep KMS-activated copies of windows activated once they leave Duke.

This error also may occur if you do not have the proper privileges on the computer or your network to activate windows. Please make sure that you have the appropriate privileges on your computer and/or network (there may be group policies preventing you from activating, for example. you could try putting it an a different OU and activating), and that you are right-clicking and launching the command line as an administrator.

2. The MEx Macro Explorer window has the standard menus and toolbar at the top of the window common to many Windows programs. Note also the three vertically tiled subwindows or columns: Actions, Categories, Macros. In the Macros subwindow, check the title bar to verify that you are using one of the 2 master files released with the Dec. 2006 push, MASTER3N.mex or MASTER3D.MEX. Make sure the file is located in the standard path: C:\Program Files\Macro Express 3. (We've found some workstations where the file was in the Eudora Attachments folder).

The macros have been organized in folders listed in the Categories subwindow. Select (left click) the Search & Import folder; the Macros in this folder will display in the Macros subwindow. The Macros subwindow is organized in 4 columns: Nickname, Activation, Scope, Modified. Clicking on Nickname at the top of the column will sort the macros by name; clicking on Activation will sort the macros by hot-key. You want to find the Search Staff Name Headings Search macro. Since there are 50+ macros in this folder and most of them have been assigned No Activation, your best bet is to search by nickname.

This window also has the standard menu and toolbar, along with 3 vertically tiled subwindows or columns: Actions, Commands, Macro Script. Above the Commands column note especially 5 tabs: Script, Properties, Scope, Security, Notes.

4. Click on the Properties tab. Two vertically tiled subwindows or columns will appear, General and Activation. Note the Hot Key selection box in the Activation window.

5. Click in the Hot Key selection box. The grayed-out Set Hot Key button will be activated and the default hot key sequence, Alt+Shift+Y will appear. Click on the Macro Explorer icon at the top of the Actions column. You will be prompted to save the update; click the Yes button. The Macro Explorer window will reappear. Note that under the Activation column for Search Staff Name Headings Search No Activation has been replaced by Alt+Shift+Y. Close the Macro Explorer window and test the macro.

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW: closing the Macro Explorer window (clicking the x in the upper right program window) does not close the MEx program. MEx is set up to be running at all times; you should see the MEx icon in the program tray during all of your Windows sessions. If you need to close the program, place the cursor on the MEx icon, right click to open the menu options, and then click Terminate Macro Express.

This window appears when you start memoQ for the first time, and use the memoq activation window instead of the memoQ activation wizard. You can enter your existing serial number here, or you can ask for a serial number if you don't have one on this computer.

Recent research by a growing number of workers is demonstrating that neutron activation analysis can provide valuable assistance in establishing the provenance of potsherds; coins and other metal artifacts; obsidian; amber; and paintings.(l) One of the authors of this paper has been involved for some years in analytical studies of ancient glass which have included the earliest application of neutron activation with high resolution gamma ray spectroscopy, i.e., Ge(Li) detector counting, to the investigation of archeological artifacts. The study described in this paper was undertaken to determine whether this method could be of similar usefulness in the characterization of medieval window glass. Areas of practical interest include questions of which panes are original and which replacements and the precise provenance of specific windows.
