All of the above. The Comparon is a Tessar (4 element) type lens
and the componon is a six element lens. The Comparon is sold as a low
cost good quality lens, the Componon is the top of the line lens.
Used Comnponons are available at reasonable prices and even the
older ones are excellent lenses.

Per a Schneider brochure from ~1990, the Comparon is a 4-element/3-group
design optimized for enlargements in the range of 2X to 6X, The lens is available
in sizes from 50/3.5 to 150/5.6. This is a less expensive lens for less demanding
applications.
The Componon (including APO-, WA- and Componon-S) is a 6-element/4-group
design optimized for enlargements in the range of 2X to 20X. This series is
available in a wide range of focal lengths from 28mm to 360mm.
The Componon series are outstanding. I use the Componon-S and the APO-
Componon HM MC, and I'm very pleased with all of them. Outstanding!
