Actually, I remember using this developer as one of my very first
developers about 40 years ago. It came packed in a kit of home
darkroom supplied that contained a very small 35 mm enlarger, trays,
etc. I think the enlarger made 3 1/2 by 5 prints, and also came with
a Yankee tank. The developer worked, but that's about all I can
remember about it. I still have the negs somewhere.

Vividol was Ansco's equivalent to Kodak Dektol. It was probably
identical to Ansco-Agfa 125. Ansco 125 and Kodak D-72 (Dektol) differ
by literally fractions of a gram of ingredients.
The "mild alkali" is sodium carbonate.
I don't know when Vividol was last sold but it must have been over
thirty years ago. There is a chance the stuff is still good but it is
no different than Dektol so you might want to keep the can intact as a
collector's item.
