As far as I have been able to determine, Yashica never issued proper repair
manuals. What they did issue were copies of the mechanical assembly drawings
used by manufacturing assembly workers. The ones I have examined have no
information you would expect -- takedown sequences, lubrication
instructions, tolerances, etc. I believe an untrained repair technician
would find them better than nothing, but hard to use well.

For your paricular problem I believe the only practical book is Ed Romney's
Yashica TLR repair instruction manual, although I must say I find it hard to
follow his section on film advance repairs. You'll probably also want his
"basic primer" on camera repair. They're both for sale at his web page.

The repair books by Thomas Tomosy don't delve into TLR film advance problems
in sufficient detail.

If you run into problems, it is not that hard to find
another 124 G for a reasonable price. I am on my
second one. They must be the best medium format
for the price.

Hello,
Try http://home.att.net/~j..harper/ He´s got a page with jpeg copies of
the original MAT 124 G manual. If it´s not there, try to ask him a
copy. Good luck!
Best Regards,
Luiz Otávio
PS: Should you get it, please let me know...
