I like Agfa consumer 35mm film, but it is hard to find in stores
around me - even most camera stores, and I don't use a quantity
sufficient to justify paying for shipping. The local Wal-Mart now has
Polaroid brand 800 35mm film, which the box notes is made by Agfa. Can
I assume this is the same Agfa film, i.e., of the most updated and
same quality, as that contained in Agfa's own boxes? Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that several
"house brands" are actually Agfa. Walgreen's house brand is one of these
that's pretty common in the US, but I've also seen rebadged Agfa film
delivered by some mail-order photofinishers, such as Mystic Color (before
they were taken over by Clark/York, but I think that outfit also delivers
rebadged Agfa). In the past, these rebadged Agfa films used to be
equivalent to Agfa HDC, when that was current. I haven't looked into
precisely what Agfa product is their current equivalent, though.
