WINTER PET CARE TIPS
Keep indoor pets in a dry, warm area free of drafts. Elevate your
pets' beds off the floor.
Provide outdoor dogs or cats with a dry, insulated pet house or
shelter out of the wind. Staying warm demands extra calories, so
feed your pet accordingly when temperatures drop. Bring your pet inside
if the wind chill or other weather conditions become severe!!
Remove ice, salt and caked mud from your pet's paws and coat at once.
Contact your vet immediately if you suspect your pet has frostbite.
Frostbitten skin may turn reddish, white or grey, and it may be
scaly or sloughing.
Cats and kittens often nap on car engines. Knock on the hood or
honk the horn, then wait a few minutes before starting the car.

PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUP
For many of us, the loss of a pet is one of the most difficult times
in our lives, for we have bonded with our companion animal at a depth
that equals and sometimes surpasses our connections with our fellow
humans. Unfortunately, society provides little comfort for mourning any
loss, but especially the loss of a pet.
Our Pet Loss Support Group is facilitated by professional therapists
trained in grief therapy. In a safe, supportive
environment, the group settings provide an opportunity to tell stories
about your pet's life and death, to share your painful feelings about
your loss and to listen and learn from other group members.
The Pet Loss Support Group is free of charge and no advanced registration
is required. The group meets the following dates:
Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Dec 22, Jan 12 and Jan 26 from 7pm-9pm
at the the HSBV, 2323 55th St in Boulder.

<<<We have several animals in addition to those listed below!!!!>>>>

RUFUS is a handsome 9 month old Australian Shepherd who was brought
to the Humane Society because he needs a big yard to play in. He is great
with kids and other dogs, but he does need some work on his housebreaking.
Rufus is a wonderful guy who needs someone who will take the time to
help him learn.

DRAKKEN is a playful 9 month old Border Collie mix who was brought to us
because he was a little too energetic for the kids in his previous
family. He is housebroken and loves to ride in the car. Drakken has
lots of energy and would be an ideal hiking or running companion.
He is very affectionate!

CHEYENNE is a loving 2 year old Rottweiler mix who was brought to us
because her owners are moving. She is wonderful with small children!!
Cheyenne is housebroken and just needs someone to give her the love
and attention she deserves in a permanent home.

BLACKIE is a beautiful 5 year old DLH cat who was given to us
because the owner's landlord will not allow pets. She has grown up with
children and is litterbox trained. Blackie loves to cuddle and is definitely
a lap cat. Please come and adopt her!

STASH is a sweet 2 year old DMH pastel tortie who was given to the HSBV
because of legal reasons. She is a loving girl who loves to
be brushed. STASH is litterbox trained too! She needs a home with lots
of love and attention.

PHLOX is a loving one-year 1 year old black dsh cat who was brought
to us because her owners are moving. She is very affectionate and has
a sweet disposition. She would be a wonderful addition to
a family with kids!
