Help Stomp Out Sick Animal Torturer
Thomas Capriola of Islip Terrace, NY was arrested in May of 1998 for the
sale and production of "crush" videos. This underground segment of the porn
video industry involves the slow and painful death by crushing or stomping
of small animals like mice, hamsters, rabbits, kittens and puppies.
These films appeal to a small group of foot fetishists who enjoy seeing
animals being squashed to death by women in spiked heels or bare feet. Sold
through the Internet or porn magazines with titles like "The Tails of
Charlie's Ankles," these crush videos graphically depict animals
being crushed and tortured to death. Animals are stapled or taped down
to the floor to keep them from getting away and their screams can be heard
for 25 minutes or more.
Thomas Capriola has been charged with only ONE COUNT of animal cruelty, even
though there is evidence that he was involved in the torture, death and
mutilation of many, many more animals! Citizens everywhere must speak out
against this mockery of justice and demand that Capriola be slapped with
charges more
appropriate to his crimes.
The U.S. Congress believes that these videos are a serious threat to our
nation's safety, and as a result, so-called "crush" videos were banned by
Federal law in December 1999. But Capriola's crimes were committed before
that date, so he will not be subject to this Federal Law!
Please call the Suffolk County District Attorney to demand that Capriola be
charged with higher counts of cruelty and that he be prosecuted to the
fullest extent of the law. Also demand that any individuals depicted in the
crush videos made by Capriola be prosecuted as well.
Animal cruelty is a serious crime! It has been shown time and time again
that animal abusers are often involved in violent crimes against adults and
children too. Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer are just two of many well-known
serial killers who began their descent into human murder after torturing
animals first. When Capriola's home was searched, he was found to have all
types of semi-automatic and assault weapons and a picture of a Nazi
stormtrooper posted on his wall. Though he is in legal possession of these
weapons (a sad statement on our society) his profile is one of a dangerous
individual.
