The New England shelters listed below rescue and adopt ferrets.
All operate on an "by appointment" basis. Always call ahead, and
keep your appointments.

Most of these shelters also sell new and used ferret cages, carriers,
supplies, and toys. Please consider them when you're "in the market"
for supplies.
_____________________________________
NOTE: At this time of year, the shelters are full of young (less
than 2 years) ferrets in many colors and patterns: silver mitt,
black and chocolate sable, albino, badger/blaze, etc. These
ferrets are in the shelter because their owners could not or
would not care properly for them.

Shelter ferrets, unlike store ferrets, come with all of their
shots current, and will be spayed or neutered. The shelter
operator will be familiar with their personalities and can help
you find the little friend or two who will fit in your household.

BECOME A FOSTER HOME for ferrets who need individualized care
before they can go to a permanent adoptive home. Some of these
ferrets may have a noninfectious illness that requires more
care than the shelter operator can provide; some need training
for behavioral problems. Most of the shelters listed below
have foster programs, and need people with long experience with
ferrets to volunteer. Please inquire of the shelter.
