Hi. My neighbor's 205 pound brindle English Mastiff female has been
artificially inseminated with the sperm of a black short-haired
Chihuahua.

They are going to do this for several generations to build up some
foundation stock. Then, they are going to refine and create a new
breed. The goal is to produce 150-200 pound dogs with an enormous
Chihuahua head, long fangs, rocket speed, fast reaction of the
Chihuauhua.....and the body mass and family qualities of the Mastiff.

When the pups are whelped, I will post pictures and a full review of
each pup. The breeder does not want to cull/kill the pups that will
not qualify for his foundation stock. Would anyone be interested in
any of the leftover pups? I would, but I don't know how my 3 year old
male Fila would get along with these unpredictable pups.

PS. Does anyone know of anything like this being done before? Does he
have a good chance of creating his breed?

Isn't that how they made the French Bulldog, by crossing a chihuahua with a
bulldog?

Supposing that you are not a troll - even though you have posted this
message in several places, I would ask the following.
Have you tried to disuade this idiot from what he is doing?
Have you given him some good sites on which to research just what makes a
"breed"? What is is doing will NOT just automatically make a new breed.
Since he doesn't even know THAT much, well I doubt he knows anything else so
is just another puppy miller out to make money from an ever gullible public.
I expect him to call them a "new breed" and "rare" when the puppies are
born. Hopefully such mixed breeds will remain "rare"!!
I wonder what the Chi owner was thinking when selling him the frozen sperm
since he/she went to the trouble of saving it.
The Mastiff people must be horrified - as are we on this group, at what he
is attempting. His Mastiff breeder must not be very happy either - unless of
course that came from another puppy miller. Not to say that other idiots
have not tried it. Someone years ago did the same thing with a Saint
Bernard. Their idea was short lived thank goodness.
Why are you giving him sooooo much free advertising?
I shall repeat the above on the other forums where you have posted for him
with the hope that nobody purchases such scam breeds and realise he's doing
it purely for the $$$$.

ELIZABETH, THAT IS RUDE TO CALL ME A TROLL...EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE
WHAT I POSTED. BESIDES, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I LOOK LIKE.

I TOLD HIM I THOUGHT IT WAS A STRANGE IDEA, BUT HE SAID LOUIS DOBERMAN
DID IT....WHY COULDN'T HE? I AM NOT HIS KEEPER....JUST PASSING ON
INFO. NO NEED TO CALL ME NAMES.

ACTUALLY HE IS ONLY GOING TO KEEP THE BEST PUPS FROM EACH LITTER TO
USE AS BREEDING STOCK. HE'S GOING TO PURCHASE SEVERAL MORE FEMALE
MASTIFFS. HE HAS ASKED MANY OF HIS FRIENDS TO FIND HOMES FOR THE PUPS
THAT DO NOT QUALIFY....AND HE WILL NOT CHARGE A DIME. HE DOES NOT HAVE
AN INTERNET CONNECTION. I THOUGHT I WOULD POST AROUND SO I COULD BE
SURE THOSE EXTRA PUPS FIND GOOD HOMES...AND BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD
BE INTERESTING READING FOR YOU GUYS.

I DON'T KNOW IF HE TOLD THE CHIHUAHUA BREEDER WHAT HIS PLANS WERE. THE
GUY HAS MONEY (FROM AN INHERITANCE) AND ALOT OF TIME ON HIS HANDS.

EXCELLENT MASTIFF. THE BREEDER DOES NOT KNOW.

HE IS NOT GOING TO CHARGE A DIME. THAT IS A FIGMENT OF YOUR
IMAGINATION. HE WILL NOT SELL ANY PUPS FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. HE HAS
ALREADY GOTTEN APPROVAL FROM THE C.K.C. FOR THE BREEDING PROGRAM AND
NAMED THE FUTURE BREED "SATAN'S MASTIFF".

DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I WANT TO BE SURE THESE EXTRA PUPS FIND GOOD
HOMES...FOR FREE.

This guy is a looser. So is his so-called "breed"; it well may not
develop the characteristics he desires. Depending on the Chihuahuas
involved, he could get a huge, nasty dog.... I would not take one of
his puppies.

No joke, If my chihuahua was the size of a mastiff, she'd of had to have
been put down years ago for vicious behavior. Chihuahua attitude in a
larger dog could be a very dangerous mix. Seems like an extremely
irresponsible goal to breed towards.
