Dalmatian at Stud

I am looking for a female to breed with my male dalmatian - he is getting
older and there seems to be no one in my area breeding dals. I am
interested in a puppy, not necessarily pick of the litter but a nice one

Oh, I am sure there are people breeding Dals near you. However, they may
be interested in some health info on your guy: have you ever had his
hearing tested? Dals have a high rate of deafness. He may very well be
deaf in one ear, and you wouldn't know it. Also, in another post of
yours, you mentioned that he lives outside because he is "hyper". This is
NOT a good stud dog!!! If he can't live in the house with you, he's not
correct for the breed.
Finally, although you may love him, unless he's a wonderful, almost
perfect dog, there are so many Dal's in rescue and in shelters, why add
to the glut? If you want a puppy, go to a good breeder and get one. Don't
breed him just to get ***A*** puppy for yourself. Let's face it: a pet
Dal stud is not going to set the breeding biz on fire. Anyone with a nice
bitch can have her pick of stud dogs. With the proper health clearances,
a decent bitch may be bred to a Ch dog with some obedience titles. Why
would the owner chose your dog? About all you can hope for is some not
too good bitch who was turned down by ethical breeders. Is that what you
would want for 50% of your puppy? I didn't think so.
If I were you, I would contact Dal rescue and see how many they get in
each month. And then I would think long and hard about possibly adding to
this number.
