Hello,

Could someone tell me what breed the small dog from the Public Television show
'Wishbone' is? Is 'Mylo', Jim Carey's dog in the movie 'The Mask' the same
breed? They both look kind of like the RCA Victor dog. Some kind of terrier?

I'm interested in perhaps aquiring a dog similar for my 3 young sons.

TIA.

The above dogs are Jack Russell Terriers. They are not for everyone.
How old are your sons?
I am a breeder of both short and tall JRT's. I will not be having a
litter until next year. Before you buy one do allot of reading. If you
want me too tell you more about mine, I will be happy too answer any
questions you have. I have 4 and too me they are the best dogs in the
world. But again I say they are not for everyone. You either love or
hate them their is no between. Ask yourself this, if I came home and
found my house destroyed what would I do. If the answer is kill the
dog don't get a JRT. If the answer is what should I have done so it
wouldn't have happened then maybe a JRT is for you.
Good luck too you in your search.

Wishbone, Milo and, for that matter, Eddie from the TV series
"Frasier," are all Jack Russell Terriers....

I don't have one, but I hear they're pretty fun, but somewhat stubborn
dogs. My concern is, that it seems to me that JRT's are the hot dog
(scuse the pun) right now, and might begin to suffer from
overbreeding. Anybody have any input?

I would like to underscore this caution. I live next door to a Jack
Russel breeder. Please understand that while we each have over 1.5
acres, we're still too close. If you plan to leave your JRT outside
most of the day, please be aware that your neighbors won't appreciate
it. These guys bark like crazy maniacs most of the day. My neighbor
had to build a special pen because they would come through the 4" hog
wire fencing and attack my Great Danes. Oh yes, JRTs are giant
protective dogs in a little body. Fortunately neither her dogs or mine
were seriously hurt! My mother lives 10 acres away from a neighbor with
3 JRTs and they keep her up at night!

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate these little guys. But they are
EXTREMELY ACTIVE and only someone with the patience and willingness to
keep them busy should consider one!

I'm glad you're asking the right questions!

Good Luck,
Peggy Chandler
