I've read the abbreviation GSD a few times and don't know what it means?

GSD stands for German Shepherd Dog. As far as I know, the GSD is the only
breed that has dog in their breed name.

I'm surprised Lisa hasn't responded to this but she must be busy baking
Christmas cookies!! How about Portuguese Water Dogs? Also, there are Bernese
Mountain Dogs (BMD) , Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs (GSMD) and I believe (but am
not sure) that in the Herding Group, the name of the newest addition is the
Canaan Dog.

I was out of town visiting family for the day .<g> BTW, it is a rather common
misconception that "PWD" stands for "Portugeuse Water Dog". Anyne who has spent
any time at all with one though knows it REALLY is for "Perfectly Wonderful Dog"!
