I had forgotten how small Max is. It's pretty cool how the big
dogs get along with the little guys - the opposite is not as
true.
Which dog made the first unsupervised approach?

Is that a trick question? They're never unsupervised together... although
I don't always have to be extra-vigilant. They have their quiet times.
Queenie still needs help knowing her own strength, although she listens
when he squeaks at her.
But Queenie was definitely the one to approach at first, quite often.
When Max started running up to her, play-bowing, and dashing off, I knew
we had it made. Also, he began barking back at her importunate entreaties
to play. He has an adorable bark, it's small but husky rather than yappy.
He discovered pretty quickly that he can change directions much more
quickly than the Queener, so games of chase are pretty amusing.
He is trying very hard to get Zoe to play with him, but no luck so far.
She tolerates him very well, though and smiles at his shenanigans.
