Hi, I'm looking to get a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and would like to get
information on the breed and breeders in the California area.

She might be willing to send you a copy of the latest ACC Bulletin
which has listings of litters of puppies advertised for sale, and
has other materials available on the nature and history of the
breed.

Also try looking at the ACC website, http://www.amchessieclub.org
and another Chesapeake site, http://www.cbrs4me.com .
There is also an article on the Oak Hill Kennel website
comparing Labs, Chesapeakes, and Goldens as working retrievers,
at http://www.oakhillkennel.com/library/breeds.html .
