Well, last night "She" decided for the first time to explore the house.
This is a huge step in the right direction as she has been hiding away
under the table or under the bed and crying her head off.

She has also finally started purring, she managed to purr last night when I
put her on bed next to me so she could hear my heartbeat. Finally... I
think she is coming around!

this cats seems more along than I think you realize!
Give it time...be patient and I think your going to find that you've got
a cat in a million.

I would never trade any of my tamed ferals for all the show cats in the
world!

Take your time, show it a lot of love, move slow, and enjoy the wonder
of what a little love can do!

My "Hisser" was aptly named. A ferocious feral when I took him in at 4
weeks old, he's now the biggest attention-monger of them all. He didn't
even *really* come around until about 6 to 8 months living with us. So
give her time. You'll treasure every step along the way.

=============
You are absolutely right, Astra, Kitty has "come home. I experienced the
same thing with a neighbor's cat when I house-sat for them. Terry, a
female Tuxedo cat, was a rescue cat who had been declawed (and Lord only
knows how else she had been abused). One day while tending to her
feeding, I had the delightful experience of seeing her "arrive". She
finally accepted her surroundings as her new home, and the purrsonality
emerged. To this day, she is now the mistress of all she surveys, and is
a loved and loving pet for my friends. When I visit, she always meets me
at the door with a cheery greeting. It is wonderful.
