Our Max recently discovered where we've been storing some rough-surfaced
flat rocks (sedimentary, I think, but prettier and with a lot more
cohesive integrity than plain old sandstone) that we'd bought for use in
decorating our fishtank and then decided not to use all of... and he
loves to lick them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that they have any special flavor,
so I'd guess that he just likes to feel the rough texture with his
equally rough tongue. Maybe it's the same with Meaghan and the window
screens.

My cat Meaghan, who is 3 yrs old, has begun a strange habit - she licks
the window screens! I think this is the most bizarre thing. Sometimes I
wake up at night to hear her doing this. Can anyone think of a reason
that she does this? In fact, she is doing it right now.

Perhaps Meaghan just wants a taste of the outdoors?

:)--Heinous pun. You might want to have your cat checked out for a
mineral deficiency of some sort. I know it sounds weird, but she might
be looking for something in the metal screen that she isn't getting in
her diet. Cats are smart that way ;). Good luck--

Thelma has taken to licking my vertical blinds, its a very strange noise
to wake up to :-) I think all these cats are just licking things to
worry us and if we stop talking about it they'll stop. Of course then
they'll have to find some other weird activity to get us going on :-)
