I have a cat who yawns when I scratch her nose (esp if it's dry)!

Really! I've always held the theory that your cat can make you yawn but
you can't make your cat yawn. Must be because they are superior beings.

You know how seeing another person yawn can make you yawn as well? This seems
to go for my cats too. If I stare at Malcolm and yawn repeatedly, he begins
to yawn too--cute!

This worked out well when I was trying to get a photo of him with his mouth
open. (I can't really explain why I wanted a photo of this, but...)

A kitty that I used to have would cross his eyes when he yawned. It
was really funny looking.

I have one "favorite meow" of my cat that is very delicate and smooth
sounding, which he reserves for pleasant casual greetings. I barely
remember how I discovered this but when he yawns, as his ears cruise back
and his teeth are exposed, I'll say "Hi!" in a friendly tone, and he'll
give me a "favorite meow" with his mouth wide open. I can elicit the
yawn-meow almost on demand now. Full of quirks, that cat.

I have found that if I wink at my kitty, he will wink back!! Do it very
slowly and repeatedly. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

I read somewhere once that in cat communicado, slowly blinking both eyes
means "let's play". Try it. My cat rolls over and waves her feet in the
air!
