Hi dis is Bandit... Meow-my needs purrs cawse she's lost her wits!
A few yeers ago she had two uf her wisdum teeth extracted, an she was a
half-wit. Well yestirday she had the uther two extracted, and she's not got
any wits left!
Why do hoomins hafta have wisdum teeth? And then why are they pulled owt?
Meow-my is actin reely funny--she eets sum pill that makes her dizzy an
lite-heded, an can't eet anything but soop an pudding an stuff like that. She
also talks funny. I don't unnerstand this at all.
Bandit
(Meow-my note: Yup, this is the month from hell for me... I've had five
fillings--my first cavities at age 22! aaah!--and two teeth pulled. I don't
think I've been able to eat anything but soft, easily chewable stuff all month!
I'm on some pain pills right now to make the ache in my jaw go away, but the
side effects are quite odd. When I don't feel like I'm on a boat or
experiencing an earthquake, my eyes get strange, and my coordination goes
bye-bye. Or I get really really tired immediately after taking my pill. It's
not pleasant. At least Gypsy, Toss, and Sparkle have come in to visit me for a
little while this afternoon.)

Renee here - I had 4 fully impacted wisdom teeth, so I went to an oral
surgeon who removed them all under general anesthesia. I don't remember
much about the procedure, except at one point feeling an itchy sensation
in my jaw and reaching up and smacking the surgeons hand away. He put
my hand down, went back to work, but I reached up again and smacked his
hand away. He must have gotten the hint (it wasn't pain, it was an
itching feeling) because the next day after I woke up (after a long
night's sleep) the left side of my jaw was still numb from the extra
shot of novocaine - I was lopsided all day, and drooling out the left
side. It was pretty funny, all things considered. And I never once
even gave thought to the fact that this guy was working in my mouth with
sharp surgical objects. Hope you're feeling better in no time.

Yipes! I let out this high-pitched "EEEEE!" (a la the movie "Splash") when I
normally have my mouth worked on. That's why I decided to have an oral surgeon
do this.
I was fully out cold. I just remember waking up crying hard, with tears
streaming down my face, but my eyelids weighed a ton, and I wasn't fully
"there"... and then it was gone. They didn't want me to walk without their
support (anesthesia not fully worn off, etc.), but I skipped down the hall and
did a pirouhette and said "See? I'm fine!"
My jaw didn't hurt until 5 hours later... the pain meds were weird. I felt
like I was on a ship in the ocean, or been on the Gravitron one too many
times... trying to answer my email was loads of fun... :)
Fangu... er, thank you, for all the purrs (and the waggawaggas). I'm doing
better now, though sitting through classes with a sore jaw is a new
experience...
...And the taste in my mouth (those of you who have had teeth pulled KNOW what
I'm talking about) is making me ill. I just have a plastic bag of Saltines and
a small bottle of 7-up in my backpack in case I feel nauseated...
I've had too many teeth pulled in my life. I'm down to 24 now, instead of the
"normal" 32. (sigh)
Well fangu very much for the toona rolls, but I'm not too fond of toona,
personally. However, I will be a nice Meow-my and let Bandit and the others
share them, since they need yummy treats more than I do right now. Here's some
tender chicken teriyaki bits and a bowl of rice for you as a fangu present--this
is take-out from my favorite Japanese restaurant (hey, being "sick" has its plus
side!).

I don't fink so, Galaxy. I fink that meens she's SMART. Seems like quite a
few hoomins hafta have theirs owt, so it's dum to get 'em in the furrst plase.
(or did yu meen she didn't get any pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, an masht
taters wif gravy?)
Meow-my isn't doin so well wif the missin teef. The bludclot that is spost
to stay in the hole disapeered, so she hadta have sumthin called "packing"
shoved in the hole in her lower gums--rite before a test at school! She failed
the test because she was in grate pain. She hasta leeve this thing (it's like
string wrapped around plastic or sumthin) in the hole till Munday wen she goes
to see the dentist again. She's callin it her tooth-tampon, but it hurts her
alot. She had a bad time eeting Fangsgivin dinner yesterday, speshally since
she hates cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, an gravy. She ate alota stuffin, tho,
an masht taters...
Bandit
who got sum turkee...
Weze so sorry to hear that. Your Meowmie needs more purrs to help her
gums heal so that the horrible packing can be removed and efurrything be
back to normal.

(Hoomin note - I'm so sorry. Your extractions bring back memories of
similar experiences. Luckily for me, each wisdom tooth was removed
during breaks, not during school. I remember the packing material -
yck, and had a similar experience with the pain medication. Hope your
teacher was sympathetic and will consider the circumstances before giving
you a grade. - Fran)

Me too. I had two of them out when I was living in TO (Toronto, I mean).
Under a local, yet. By the time the subway reached the stop near my aunt
and uncle's apartment, I'd already swallowed the painkillers the clinic
gave me. Sure, it hurt, but the drugs meant I didn't really care!!
I still have the last two. They weren't impacted. Does this mean I am
half wise?
