I think it was soft paws? To stop cats from clawing. My mother is
saying she's going to have her persians de-clawed, and I told her at 6 & 8
years old I doubt the vet would do it, and explained why she shouldn't etc,
but she's buying new furniture (they wrecked the last) and refuses to let
them
scratch it to bits. SOOO, I know someone mentioned something that can
be done short of declawing to prevent clawing.

And please, no flames. I don't live with her, lectured her for half and
hour and
would NEVER declaw a cat.....

Your description of Soft Paws is correct, but there is no way that they
can last for more than 6 weeks. Cats claws are constantly growing, and
the outer layers (where you glue the Soft Paws) are shed on a schedule
of once every 4 to 6 weeks. When the outer layers are shed, so are the
Soft Paws.

Haven't used these myself, but I know someone who does. I don't remember
how long the last, but surprisingly enough, the cat did not try to remove
them. This is something we both thought would happen, but the cat doesn't
mind them at all. It's definately something you should try before having
the cat declawed.

There are actually two products: Soft Paws which you can purchase through
your vet or Soft Claws which you can order through the Drs. Foster and . . .
oh, I forget the name. Maybe someone else can remember. I've used the second
one and had great success even with my ex-ferals.
