I bought an aloe plant for my apartment and I am wondering if it will do
any harm to my cat if she tries to chew on it or eat it.

If anyone knows, please e-mail me at Mf...@aol.com.

Thanks!

No, aloes aren't toxic to cats. In fact, my Lionel rather likes
snacking on the small one I now have (unknown species), and spent many
years chewing, periodically and meditatively, on a very large Aloe vera
I used to have. The author of "The Punctured Thumb" -- sorry, don't
recall his name -- also mentioned that cats seemed to like nipping
aloes; he remarked that his cat seemed to like the way his teeth snicked
into the fat leaves. Lionel also seems to particularly enjoy this
effect.

Moral of the story: don't worry about your kitty, but worry about the
aloe.
