Depending on the number of days that a cat has constipation determines the
remedy. However, here are a few home and NATURAL remedies...
Prevention...
Daily brushing of cat to loosen hair and prevent cat from digesting fur.
Cat laxative to prevent hair balls and blocking intestines.
Treatment..
STOOL SOFTENER TREAT (works well)
1 T baby food vegetables and meat mixture
1/2 t melted butter
1/8 t ground psyllium husks
1/8 t powdered or fine bran
2 T water (little less or little more... just depends)

you can mix the bran and butter together as a treat.

I keep the Psyllium husks on hand and mix with my cats food once and a
while for when he gets his "problem."

Tigger has IBS; so I go thru this quite often.
Also... instead of spending a lot (well not so much) you can use this
instead of buying laxatives... plain petroleum jelly. IF you give your
cat a laxative, make sure it does NOT contain the preservative sodium
benzoate or benzoate of soda.
make sure to give laxative gel 2 hours before or after a meal. Never with
a meal.

One can find Psyllium husks at the Natural food store or GNC.
Lots of luck!
