I found my cat bleeding profusely from her vagina after a male cat jumped her in
the early hours of the morning. She wasn't on heat, or at least she was in the
very early stages of estrus and obviously wasn't ready. She is now very sick and
in a lot of pain. ie... she can't stand or walk.

Has anyone else found this before, or heard of any cases... any suggestions help
would be appreciated. Please send copies via email.

Thankyou

Gareth.

Cat penises are barbed...that is why your cat was bleeding. If she were
in heat, there would have been no problem. Unfortunately, short of
keeping her in during the night, you won't be able to keep this from
happening. It was most likely a younger male, as older ones "take the
time" to get the female at least somewhat aroused before penetrating.

Unless you can train your cat to carry some KY, keep her in if you don't
want this happening again. Right now, if the bleeding persists, take
her to the vet and ask him/her for some extra advice...

GEEZ. SPAY HER. Please do it soon. She doesn't need this and the world
DOES NOT NEED ANYMORE KITTENS. Call any shelter or rescuer and ask them
if that's not true.
