I've been wondering about this for a while and thought I'd probably do
best asking all you great RPCers, because someone out there should know.

Is there a breed of cat with a reverse siamese coloring (dark body, white
points)?

Thanks!

I don't know of any such breed.

The closest I can imagine to that description would be a Birman, but they
have a light body with points just like Siamese only they also have white on
the extremities.

In article <511js6$n...@news0-alterdial.uu.net>, cst...@knowlogy.com
says...
The points on a pointed cat are caused by the body temperature being
cooler in the area where the points are seen. There is a particular gene
that allows that to happen, I think by supressing pigment formation above
a certain temperature. To get the reverse, you would have to have a gene
in which the mechanism was reversed -- and there aren't any.

You will occasionally find white spotted cats, whose spots happen to
coincide with the point areas, but that's probably as close as you'll
see.

On Sep 09, 1996 16:21:40 in article <reverse siamese?>,
No such breed, however, there are breeds with dark faces, ears tails and
white feet....
