I have two cats - they are able to track their litter out of the utility
room, through Kitchen, carpeted family room and hall, through bedroom and
it ends up on top of a dresser they use to get to the window back there.
Does anyone have a solution they have tried. It also must be able to
control odors. The utility is right off the kitchen, and there is no where
else to put the litter. Suggestions welcome - please email if possible.

Alexis -

I switched brands, due to allergies to the clumping litters, but the
side benefit was the new litter stayes in the box, not on the cat
(like M+Ms !) The kind I've been using is called "Cat Works", comes in
a black bag, green letters and a big photo of a tabby cat. I can only
find it in 1 or 2 pet supply places. It's one of the ones made from
grass/ hay/ vegetable matter. The reason I like it is that its small
eneough to scoop through, fairly good for lifting out wet stuff, and
it seems to absorbe oder. I haven't washed out the boxes in WEEKS,
just sift out the presents, and NO smell!! You might try finding it in
your area.

regards

Cathy

Try litter that comes in small granules instead of large chunks.
Also, consider getting a covered litter box. My cat used to shove litter
out of his box and set uplitter dunes all over the kitchen until I got him
a covered box and switched brands...now he hardly tracks litter if at all.

I've brought a 8 month old kitten into my house. She is a mess in the litter
box!! She throws it all over my bathroom! She does this when she is digging
a hole to use and then again when she covers it up! I've tried both the finer
granule and lately, the no-track kind but it doesn't seem to matter at all
which she has. I'm about ready to get her a covered box!
