I'm wondering if anybody has any advice to offer. There's a cat stuck in
one of our neighborhood's palm trees. The tree's about 30 feet tall, and
we can't tell exactly where the cat is; we hear it meowing, but we can't
see it. Any suggestions on how we might get it down?
Thanks,
Eric

If we knew what we were doing it would not be called research, would it?
I suggest you do what we did and either rent or buy a ladder. If you rent,
you can get one long enough to reach the cat and then return it. The rental
places were closed when we needed to rent one, so we bought one and got the
cat down from a pine tree. She was 40 ft up and a pain to rescue

A lot of fire departments will no longer perform pet rescues, because
of the risk that a fire or other human-life-threatening emergency
will come along while they are busy rescuing the treed cat.

Anyway, with the help of a ladder, Shaggy's owners managed to get him
down. He's spending the night at the vet's with a temperature, but they
think he should be fine. Not sure if he really spent the whole week up
there; I sure hope not though!

Yes, that story was on Animal Planet a while ago. The frog sounded a
lot like a young kitten.
