Poor Phantom right now he is not eating much or moving much. I know he is
15 going on 16 years old. Last time I was in for blood work. He was in the
way early signs of kidney and liver failure.

He still is getting up to go to the bathroom and get water. He stays in
one spot most of the time. He has gone from a 15 pound cat to skin and
bones in the last few years.

My grouchy old man needs some purrs please.

I know his time he getting there but knowing when is the hard part. As long
as he is still eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. I think I am
going to wait for a bit longer. I am telling him as much as I can that I
love him. I am hoping it is like last time and he gets better in a few day.
I can only hope but I am preparing for the worse.

Matthew, mega purrs for you and your furry friend. We have all been where
you are now and know you will know from him when the times comes if you have
to help him to the bridge. Purrs and prayers for all of you.

I hope your kitty hangs in there a little longer. If only they lived as
long as we do........

Kitties don't stay on this earth as long as we do because they're
already close to being angels.

Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst are the actions of a
wise person. I too hope that Phantom pulls through, and I agree that
as long as he's eating, drinking and eliminating OK, and is not in
pain, then the time hasn't yet come.

Ooodles of purrs for Phantom. Miss Pooh, my calico is almost 17. She
basically sleeps, eats and potty's. In the mornings tho', when everyone (3
dogs/3 cats) is in the kitchen, Pooh jumps down and goes at it with Maui, my
5 y.o. Siamese. As long as she's still into "rough and tumble", I know
she's doing okay.

But the ending is the same. Again, many purrs for you and for dear, sweet
Phantom!!

How much does he eat? enough to keep him going, do you think?

If he is skin and bones you must ask your vet if he knows a better diet that
will improve him. If not, I am not going to say anything else.
I've gone down the kidney failure route myself.
