Vet list FAQ (please help me update it!)

I have volunteered to update the veterinarian listing (Part 4 of the
rec.pets.birds FAQ), which contains a list of veterinarians that treat birds
and that have been recommended by rec.pet.birds readers. What I WANT to do
is upgrade the FAQ by also adding a listing of certified avian
veterinarians, also listed by geographic area. In its finished form, the
FAQ will hopefully carry a list that includes vets for every state. This
FAQ is a great resource for new owners or for people who travel with their
birds, or who are moving from one area to another.
What follows is the most current version of the vet list (last updated in
July '94), PLUS a list of certified avian vets (thanks to Gaby of the
'Toos for this info!). What I want each one of you to do is to look over
the vet list, and if your favorite avian vet isn't listed, please send
ME [quin...@biology.ucsc.edu] the vet's name, clinic name, address, and phone
#. If the certified avian list is out of date or incorrect in any way,
likewise contact me, and let me know what the error is (or where I can get
the most recent listing!).
So, please, take a couple minutes to go over the listings, and contribute
with the names and addresses of any bird-friendly veterinarians that you
know and trust. As the disclaimer in the FAQ says, being in this listing
does NOT offer any type of guarantee over the quality of the vet's work.
It simply says another rec.pets.birds reader has dealt with the said vet
and found his/her work worthy of a recommendation. I will post this message
a few times in the next few weeks so as to give everyone plenty of
opportunity to offer input, then the updated version will be available to all.
