Painting Bird house?

Hi

Could someone tell me if it is good or not to paint an outdoor bird house?
My bird house is made of treated wood. I am thinking of painting it a green
colour to make it looks like a tree or forest. Is that prudent or not?

Any response will be very appreciated.

I've found that painting the outside makes no difference, the birds use
it just fine. Leaving the inside natural, makes it easier for their
toes to grip to get out.
