Since Steven insists on posting ads on a weekly basis, here's a customer

Hi,

My pet African Grey (Hunter) and Red-Lored Amazon (Rodman)
were stolen on Monday 4/20/98 from the downtown Phoenix pet
store where they were being borded.

We loved them *very* much and will pay handsomely for their
return or any info.

Thanks,

Michael Gribbin

Friends,

I have noticed that somebody has put the number for the Flight of
Phoenix on-line. While I am not happy with the care my birds received
while being boarded, then stolen--many people have jumped to the
conclusion
that the owners must be involved in the theft of my birds.

I, no more than one hour ago, received information regarding who stole
my birds,
and it is not them.

Please don't call them, and just sit tight while I try to get my birds
back.

Everyone's kind words and thoughts have been very helpful, and right now

I am working on making a miracle come true.

We will let everyone know tomorrow...

Thanks,

Michael & Nicole Gribbin

Everyone,

I just brought Hunter & Rodman home an hour ago!

I can't tell you all how thrilled we are, and how thankful we are
for all of your wonderful thoughts and prayers...

All I can say at this point is that somebody who knew the theif
called me last night (we had a $2,000 reward in the paper). To
make a long story short, I paid the $2,000 to a stranger in a cab
in a public place to get my birds back.

If you knew the details, I really didn't have the option of catching
this guy. I would love to take someone like that off the streets, but
to get my birds back, I had to play along. I felt like I was in a TV
melodrama! "OK--meet me here with the $2,000 and you'll get your
birds..." Brother!

So I am going to try and sort through all the details tomorrow, but as
of tonight--the boys are back! And are they making a lot of happy
noise!

Thank you all--we just can't believe that we have our birds back!

Friends,

I feel I must at least warn everyone I can....

We left our birds to be boarded at the 'Flight of Phoenix' in downtown
Pheonix, AZ while my family went on vacation.

When we returned, they told us rather callously that our birds had been
stolen in broad daylight "sometime between 2 or 3" while they were
LEFT OUTSIDE UNATTENDED. At one point they told us that
'Shit Happens'.

My African Grey 'Hunter' had been hand-fed by my wife and was our
buddy for over eight years. He talked up a storm and was so sweet.
I am crying right now. I can't sleep....

Hunter's cage-buddy 'Rodman' was actually our first bird. He was an
imported Red-Lored Amazon and had the neatest personality. I used
to play with him all of the time.

My family is heartsick. As I was trying to leave a message at 'The
Flight
of Phoenix' (they are not answering their phones, even though they are
open),
trying to get them to at least talk to me, the owner answered the phone
and
told me to go f*ck myself.

Please everybody be aware. Do not leave your birds at 'The Flight of
Phoenix'
for ANYTHING!! I do not want another family to lose their babies.

Thank You,

Michael Gribbin
