Parrotlet ?Behavior?

I purchased a baby male pacific parrotlet yesterday. When I woke this
morning, he was hanging upside down from the side bars of his cage. I have
had a parrotlet before, but not one that "dangled." Also, it seems like he
yawns from time to time, while extending his neck -- almost like there's
something in his throat, but I don't think so, since he is eating corn, pasta
and chicken like crazy. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Maybe
he's just disoriented with his new home, or houdini -- I don't know.

Also, what are your suggestions when he bites harder than the gentle nibble?
I realize it's been less than a day that I've had him, and aware of
"adjustment time," but I don't recall my previous parrotlet biting this
hard. (He was hand fed, and he is finger tame -- maybe these are
"exploratory baby bites." )

Has anyone taught tricks to parrotlets? If so, I'd love to hear about them.

Has he had a "New Baby Physical" from an Avian Vet?

When I first acquired my Pacific Parrotlet, Tiki, he "yawned"
constantly, and also had some problems with balance - At first
I thought it was just baby clumsiness, but it turned out
he had an ear infection - 10 days of drops and he was AOK -

Some birds yawn for many of the same reasons that people do, but it
can also be a sign of a respiratory problem (along with some other
symptoms.) Especially if you have a "limited warranty" contingent
on a vet check, you should run him to the vet and have him checked
out.
