Peachboy my M-Too loves the dog bones, it he does not get one with the dogs,
weeeee you can hear him in California. When we first got him he would not
eat, the dog bones was the first food he got. I do limit him to one every
now and then.
Toos seem to eat in batches, IMLTHO, so I try to present several options to
mine daily.

Has anyone have any reason why dog treats wouldn't be good for a
Cockatoo?
My mom gave my 'too some Milk-Bones Original Marrow Dog Treats recently
while she was baby sitting and he loves them!!! The ingredients all sound
fine ( I could probably eat them if I wanted to) just marrow, chicken meal,
flour etc. But I thought I'd check around before I start giving him
anymore.

Thanks

Personally I don't see why not. I might check the iron & fat content if
any and I wouldn't give them real frequently unless both of these were
very low.

We knew of a lady who was an RN whose child (human) would eat dog biscuits.
The doctor she worked with said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Apparently when he would get the dog a biscuit, he would help himself to
one. Personally, I wouldn't go for that.

Our birds have their own cookies. They prefer crunchy granola bars. The
favorite is peanut butter, second is oats and honey. I do give them doggie
chew toys and have given them doggie biscuits. Out vet sees no problem at
all. In fact they're quite healthy for them according to them. Believe me,
doggie chew toys last a lot longer with Amazons than do some of the bird
toys out there.

Human mouths supposedly have more germs- I would have to see some proof of
that- my dog will eat some pretty germ-y things!
