Looking for a budgie breeder in Portland Oregon

Hello,

So after wanting a bird for many years I have finally decided to
get one. I had a budgie when I was younger and still have fond
memories. I have already spent several weeks researching this and
don't plan on actually buying one until late August. Part of my prep
work is trying to find a breeder which is proving to be rather
difficult.

So my first question is does anyone know of any breeders in or
around the Portland Oregon area? I don't mind driving a bit if I have
to.

My second question is have people had success with the mail-order
bird thing? I see that several breeders offer shipping but that just
seems odd. I can't imagine the stress it puts the bird through and I
would really rather pick one out myself in person than from a picture.

I don't know one personally but I know an African Grey breeder that
knows a budgie breeder. I can ask her and get you a contact name.
