my quaker talks really well but only when its by itself. when anyone is
around it clams up. when i try to get it to talk for treats it only says
kiss and sometimes pretty birdie but when alone its vocabulary is probably
20 words/sounds. it is 1 year old and very friendly. is there any way to
get it to talk more around people?
thanks ls

How old is your Quaker? How much time do you interact with it?How do
you interact with it?

its 1 year old. i spend 1 1/2 hours of which 20 minutes is talking 20
scratching its head and 20 doing tricks and 30 just sitting on me. my kids
spend an hour or 2 doing similar things with it. it also talks non-stop
when i'm present if i'm on the treadmill with the music on but stops if i
pick it up. it repeats certain words at that time like speak or whistle
tunes

Just give it time Our Quaker was the same way,now she will sit on my
shoulder and talk to me.Her vocabulary is well over 150 words. What is
surprising is how she puts words together.
