I am inheriting a 7-10 year old conure and am thrilled! I would
appreciate any advice on helping him adjust to his new home. Also, if
he is a biter, how can I break him of this?

Congratulations, Cyndi :). Do you have other birds also?

You can't "break" birds of any natural behaviors but you can alter the
environment (how they are handled, dietary factors, etc.) to decrease their
perceived need to bite, and you can make not biting more rewarding to them
than biting. There are some great articles that you will find helpful in
understanding why birds bite and how you can help him not want to bite:

Just to get you started :).

I hope you will have a wonderful companion for many years, conures (do you
know what kind of conure?) can be a lot of fun! :)
