Exquisite Inuit (Eskimo) & Native American Art
You can START with a Google ........
We drove it last summer. It is not paved, but is a good gravel/shale
road if you don't mind flat tires. We saw lots of RV's. Do have
tires in good condition and the ability to change them. There is only
ONE place to get a flat fixed between Dawson and Inuvik (some 400+
miles).
We were lucky.. drove slowly (30-40 mph) and only had one flat. The
RCMP patrols the road, and their vehicle carries THREE spares.

PS: You may also need to replace your windshield.. the haul trucks on
the road slow for no one!

One can never have too many spare tires up there!
Many years ago I got TWO flats on the "Top Of The World Highway" between
Dawson and Tok Junction. The second was caused by a nail -- and not
just any nail. This one had a square shank and square head, and must
have been lying there ever since the gold rush, just waiting for an
unsuspecting motorist.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT RENTAL CARS:
Not only is rental car insuance expensive, but it might contain clauses
specifically limiting coverage if you drive on "unpaved" roads. The
reason is the high incidence of cracked windshild glass and pitted body
paint caused by flying stones. Be sure to research the company's rules
*before* you leave home -- a busy rental office is no place to be
making hasty decisions involving hundreds, even thousands, of dollars.
