I just got the official word that, although Red Dog is still being
brewed by MillerCoors, it's no longer being distributed in my area
(which means, in my case, at least more than a 100-mile radius around
me). This, in turn, means that the Dog and I will no longer have the
relationship we both have had for about 2 decades. It's a sad blow to
a way of life to which I've become accustomed.

Also, my email address (reddog @ rye.net) has now become a
halfanachronism (Jim Beam rye is still available in this area -
although the nearest place is 55 miles away).

And now that I'm required to make a big 'shift' in my life, I find it
serendipitous - or maybe even visionary - that I've already been test
driving Third Shift beer.

I have 3 Dogs left, and I intend to sip them slowly, savor them, and
remember the Good Times associated with them. I may even save the last
one until it's cool enough here to build a campfire to help soothe my
damaged soul as I lovingly start the Last Dog on the journey to its
first waypoint - the aquifer below my house.

I will appreciate any sympathy and cheering-up you may have to offer.
But hold the prayers - I don't think prayer would be appropriate for
either me or the Last Dog.

Has Black Crown beer arrived in your neighborhood yet?

If so, give it a try. It's been selling here for $10.99 per 12
pack.

It has arrived, I've tried it, and found it lacking.

Have it shipped in.

Just cherish the two decades you had together and keep an empty can on the
table in honor Red Dog's life. Two decades is a long life even for a Red
Dog.
My condolences.

Dang. Hey, JAWC (Just Another Whining Conservative)! A liberal like me would
take it upon myself to solve my own dang beer shortage problems - probably
with your money. Why not have it delivered to your door? I'm sure somebody
who took a job that was beneath them and is now rolling in dough would be
more than glad to help with the freight:

If you had chickens you could probably trade one for many cases of that

Great B Chicken! They want $107.15 to ship me a 30pak. Dog is, of
course, a premium beer - but it ain't nowhere near that premium.

> If you had chickens you could probably trade one for many cases of that

And how much would it cost me to ship the chicken to Wisconsin?

The dearth - and probably imminent total disappearance - of Dogs is
just one more speedbump I'll have to adjust to in the continuing
decline of society as I knew it.

And I find it highly suspicious that they stopped distributing Dogs in
my area at about the same time that Obama got reelected.

Anyway, thanks for your advice - dumbass though it was.

Thanks - but I'd never insult a Dog by buying it in a can. Part of the
appeal of Dogs (in a bottle) were the profound and thought-provoking
messages and images on the underside of the caps.

I have analyzed that claim, and I find the accuracy of the implied
math to be questionable - due most probably to your misestimation of
the value of the variables.

All I need from him is a check - I'll figure out what to do with it.

It's supremely accurate within two orders of magnitude as you've frequently
demonstrated.

I believe you are once again confusing 'variables' and 'invariables'. This
can be caused by rampant brain amoebas or cherry crap withdrawals.

I've done an in-depth macro and microscopic
self-examination/evaluation, and conclude that you've unsurprisingly
again adopted, adsorbed, or inhaled a wrong belief. Probably a
spillover or side-effect or corollary - or even a direct result of -
that GBC fetish you're unfortunately afflicted with and adversely
affected by.

You're still adversely affected by deliriumus tremendulous manifesting as
the inability to recognize your own sorry affliction. Perhaps a nice flowery
liquor such as Creme de Violette will help assuage your creepy-crawlies? Or
maybe a Bloody Oath, in your case...

I don't know.

Depends on the temp.

What are you thinking? An extended road trip in the Nerdafari to bring
back a load?
