I am looking at buying an older pickup camper for trips into the local
hills. I have located an 8 foot overhead camper made by Kit. It is a "76"
model I am told. It appears in pretty good condition and all the appliances
work. Does anyone have any experience with Kit campers? What kind of
problems can I expect to have when I need to find parts for repairs on older
campers like this one? What are the good things and the bad things to look
out for when buying older slide-in campers?

Thanks, Keith

Keith: Watch for dry rot. Many older campers have this problem if they have
leaks. Near impossible to correct, Parts are generic, i.e. fridge, stove, etc,
Other than wood panneling evrything is ready available if you are innovative.
BTW, make sure it will fit your truck. Some of the older units do not fit all
new trucks.
