Has anyone used this shop and care to comment on their experience? I'm
mainly interested in approximate length of time to complete and where you
stayed while the work was being done.
My thanks,

Ping George---WWEMU. I know he had a coach painted in Algodones and
seemed pretty pleased with the results.

I had them paint a truck for me and they did an outstanding job. I
needed body work as well as painting. The day I dropped it off, they
had 6 guys around it either straightening/repairing or sanding. It was
one of those with popping paint, so it had to be sanded down to the
metal. The next day I went by to see how they were doing and they had
just finished all the repairs and sanding down to shiny metal and it
was in the spray booth being wiped down before spraying on the
undercoat. That afternoon they sanded the undercoat and the next
morning applied the color and that afternoon applied the clear coat.
The finish looked like a new truck and when I sold the truck 5 years
later, the paint was still in good condition except for a few rock
dings I got on an Alaska caravan.
There are plenty of motel rooms in Yuma just off I-8 down from the
Cracker Barrel. :-)

My thanks once again,

Nothing to this method.

Send me an e-mail, including your question, and I'll forward it to a
friend who had some body and paint work done in Algodones. If he didn't
use that particular shop, his response may still help you.

I was spending the winter in Yuma, so I just drove over and got
estimates from all the paint shops there. While I was getting the
estimates, I was also looking at the work they were doing. They were
not the cheapest, but were by far doing the best paint jobs. They were
1/2 what the Ford dealer in Yuma wanted for the exact painting
process. Things could have changed since then, but if I needed a
vehicle painted, especially something the size of a motorhome, I'd
have no qualms about driving from GA to get it done there. Get an
estimate from a local paint shop before you go, so you won't think
they are taking you to the cleaners when you get down there.

Hi,
We had a 35' GM converted coach (bus). Took it to Navarro's shop. they
completely stripped the coach to bare metal, going around each of the
thousands of rivets with a razor blade. They did necessary body work,
mostly small dings, Then they primed the coach, put on the base coat,
laid out and painted the fancy stripes, and finally applied the clear
coat. It took two weeks total and we stayed in the coach except while
it was actually in the spray booth. Then we stayed in Enrique's house
at his insistence. Total cost was $5,000 U.S. They used R & M Diamint
paint, one of the premium paints available i the world - used on such
as BMW's and Caddy's for example. The wife also had them put in a
pearlizing additive at an added cost.
A friend had a similar job done for the same cost. He had received
estimates in the states that ran from $17,000 to $24,000. Needless to
say, we are both pleased and recommend them highly.
While there, we watched them turn out many cars, vans, and pickups on
a daily basis. It seems like a complete paint for a van was running
around $1,500.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have return several times
just to visit and have always been warmly received.
Regarding an estimate p we had stopped at the border on the US side
and walked across initially. Enrique drove us back and looked the
coach over and gave us a written estimate which he held to. Over the
phone, I would guess that his final estimate would be based upon
seeing the vehicle.
FWIW, while I was there, a lady? was complaining about a dash cover
they had made for her car a couple of years before. Sorroco told her
to bring it back and they would make it good. She had thrown it away.
He told her that they would make her a new one anyway to make her
happy. I was impressed with their customer service,
Hope this helps,
George
