Since I am no longer living in Las Vegas, I am unable to attend CES next
January. If anyone here will be in Vegas January 8 - 13 I would be
happy to forward the email I just received that will provide a free pass
(I hope - I know it would for me). Just let me know you want it, and it
is yours.

I don't understand free pass. No ID required ?

ID is still required when you get to the show - and all it has to do is
match their credentials - which are filled out based on your
application. The email comes without a specific ID on it - anyone who
fills it out gets the pass. CES is supposed to be an industry show, so
you might have to invent some sort of industry ties, but in my past they
never checked them out. You simply use the access code that is in the
email, fill out the application, claim that you are a buyer where you
work, and get the pass mailed to you. At least that is how it has
always worked for me. If you are going to be in Vegas next January,
send me your email, and I'll forward the invite. My email, as shown at
the top of this message, is valid. Oh yeah, once they have you as a
registered attendee, you will get the email invitations every year
seemingly forever.

I wish I could plan that far in advance; I'd really enjoy the show.

Nothing like a little good old dishonesty to get one into the show and
increase the fun factor, either...

I'll probably get a few more notices between now and October when free
registration ends. I'll keep you in mind.

Not really dishonesty - Max really is the buyer of electronic devices
for his business, so he qualifies.

And that's a fact.

Being a geek, I've always wanted to go to that show. We may be
living out there by then, so I'll take you up on your nice offer if
still available. Thanks!

Is the email address you have used here a good one, or do you want to
contact me privately and provide one. I'll forward it as soon as you
let me know where to send it.

I had my pass in 2011 but didn't go. Now I have no university ID. No plans
otherwise. Last time I went the big casinos had closed pools, but I went in
the now defunct key largo, swimming and enjoying the sun, in early January.
High 60's plenty of hot sun.

January is way too cold to ever see me near a pool - even in Vegas.

I had a pass for last year too, but since I had moved, I did not get to
use it.

I don't understand what your school ID has to do with the discussion.

I was explaining how I got passes.
That was my ID for validating my workplace. I was electronics oriented. I
had a pass every year after 2000 till 2011. Only went twice.

Sitting on the sun deck is one good reason for going to Vegas, for me. Both
CES shows I went to had very good sun, felt wonderful from coming from
Pittsburgh, in the middle of winter. Too bad there are no indoor pools. I
probably would not think of swimming when I lived out that way, that time
of year. I realize weather changes from year o year.

My main interest was audio. The show is too split up now.

Got it and sent the invite. I think it is pretty much self explanatory
but if you have any questions just ask.
