Hi Folks,

Anyone know of a website for owners of Award Travel Trailers? I know
the Company is in the process of establishing a site, but this is not
the one I mean.

Some time ago, I did find such a website, but didn't bookmark it & now
cannot find it again with search engines, perhaps it is no longer in
existence.

After looking for some time for one, we just bought a 1993 Award 27
ft., after being away from camping for about ten years. We are looking
forward to picking it up in a couple of weeks.

Thanks ............ Brian M.

I don't know of a web site for owners. I owned a 1996 27 Award Classic for 3
years and I loved it. We now have a Class A, but there are many times I miss
the Award. We put over 10,000 miles on it each year. It has been to both coasts
and extensively in Canada.

I did have to deal with a leak around the front window. I got a new gasket from
the group that advertises from Canada. It didn't quite fit right, so the window
repair place had to re-use the old one. It leaked again. The Canada place
replaced the gasket with one they said would work. However, I sold the trailer
before I had it installed. That one process covered a span of almost 6 months.

I did not have any major problems, other than the leak at all. In fact, I had
very few minor problems either. All the applicances worked fine and have many
years of service ahead.

I did have some problems with sway. I first had a Ford Explorer. Then I bought
a Ford Econoline conversion that I thought would be heavy enough and a longer
wheel base to overcome the sway. Not enough. Then I got a Hensley Hitch and
that took care of every bit of the problem. I was able to pull the trailer at
65 or higher mph and never have to worry. No problem when big trucks passed at
their 75 and higher speeds in Arizona deserts.

Whenever I was an Award owner at a campground, I found them all uniformly
pleased with the Award.

Good luck!

I have been fighting the same leak in an older Award. Can't seem to
lick it. Also have sway problems, towing with a Grand Cherokee SUV.
Did you use any sway-control?

I have a 1994 27 Award with some 25K miles on it including one great trip to
Alaska. Haven't had any leaks on the front window, but always am checking for it.
The company recommends that you reseal the front window every year. I have done it
once two years ago. They used parbond (?); don't know if they truly pulled out the
gasket first. Here in the Colorado sun, it is probably only a matter of time before
the gasket deteriorates from the UV and will need to be replaced.

I tow with a Ford full-size Bronco, using a single friction type sway control. I do
get some sway if I made abrupt turns. I recall only 1 or 2 moderately bad sway
conditions. Probably should get a Hensley, but that's a lot of money. I don't get
any sway at all when trucks pass fast.

I have had a few minor problems, but generally love the look/livability and towing
characteristics of the trailer.
