Midwest Outdoor Resorts.....any good?

presentation selling memberships to Midwest Outdoor Resorts. They have only
2 properties, one in Rapid City, the other in Spring Grove, Minnesota. They
are affiliated with Resorts of Distinction and Coast to Coast Deluxe. We
probably won't be near the home parks very often, but their affiliation with
ROD offers free camping at ROD campgrounds (two weeks in, 7 days out... but
you can go to another ROD facility during the seven days out). The annual
fee for ROD is $99 and for C to C is $239. The first year fee for both is
paid by Midwest Outdoor Resorts.
We would be grateful for any feedback from people familiar with any of the
above organizations. Membership initiation costs $6K plus $400 for fees and
tax. The membership sale has a $200 transfer fee and can sell for no more
than the original price.
The locations of ROD and Coast to Coast campgrounds seem to work well for
our future travel plans.
Thanks for any feedback. They want am answer by 3 pm today, but of course
they will surely take our money tomorrow.

You can get those affiliations with a resale membership in many C2C
related properties. That's an awful lot of money, IMHO. Check with the
resale guys in Orlando before you sign anything. 1(800)952-0401

Tom, I'm with Janet, you can look for a better deal on resale, and they will
often negotiate down, but the initial cost is the sting. We are in a home
park with ROD and C2C, we use ROD as our primary locaitons when possible and
it does save a bunch of money. We have gotten our moneys worth out of it,
but those that are not full time and using the system are the ones that are
losing out. In our case it is not uncommon to spend at least 1/4 to 1/2 of
our year in ROD parks or other free or very low cost locatoins which is a
great savings. We also use C2c as backup parks, but they cost 8 and I
believe 12 respectively for C2C and Good Neighbor parks.
I see many will disagree, but if you get the initial cost down ROD can be a
great benifit.

Hey, it would have taken a speed reader to keep up.
He asked for advice here, got several strong negative comments, and then
returned two days later to say he'd bought it.
Now he says he's going to cancel the sale. But he's traveling, so it's
hard to say how that'll work out (although I have a good idea)....
