The Fiberglas skin has delaminated from the backing board on the side wall
of my trailer. The area is approx 1ft sq. below a window. There is no
water damage, I suspect insufficient bonding agent during mfg process. With
the window pulled it is fairly easy to re-glue & clamp.

Contact cement has been suggested but there is not enough space to glue both
sufaces, let dry then clamp. Any ideas on alternate gluing methods
appreciated.

Thanks

Ian, try West systems epoxy. You can get it at any marine or hardware
center. It comes in several types with different drying times to let
you work with it. Jim

Jim, Have you used this stuff? Does West Marine (they call them
E&B Marine in Ohio) make the stuff. Most of the stuff from E&B
is top shelf.

Steve, I build model sailplanes the biggest having a 16ft wingspan. The
West System epoxy is the best stuff I've found. It comes with pumps to
pre-measure the correct amount if you're not too good in that area. It
sets up when it is supposed to. Never has a tacky surface when dry and
sands without clogging the sandpaper. I've used it on the wings and to
repair the fuselages. No failures or problems yet. Jim

West System epoxies and west marine are two different things.
West System epoxies are the best available and are used in the boat
business. West marine are marine stores (home office California) located in
several states. They are NOT associated with
E & B marine which also has stores located in several states.

Someone ought to tell West Marine and E&B then! They
merged some time ago.

See: http://www.westmarine.com/
Or: http://www.ebmarine.com/

I can't comment on the epoxy vs store question, but I do know West Marine and
E&B merged some time back. They are the same company.

Everyone, We are missing the point here. The original question was
about glue and a SUGGESTION where to find it. Who cares if West Marine
and E&B Marine merged. Let's move on. Jim
