Gene,

I had the same problem with the same genset a couple of years ago. The tech who
solved the problem did so with a simple carb. adjustment. It was running too
rich. You might also want to check your summer/winter switch and make sure it's
in the right position.

If you want dangerous and sometimes worthless incite, you have come
to the correct forum. Here goes. I had a carburetor float pivot pin
fall out and flood mine. Usually when it floods it will send fuel up
and out of the intake-ventura hole. If you don''t have fuel soaking
around the intake.. maybe you should try : If you can get at the
float bowl, using short series wrenches, gently remove the float bowl
and see what is going on in there.

I do not know if they make a carb float repair kit.

But.. do not run that rascal til you get it fixed one way or the
other! It's sounds like you procrastinated too long already. Lot's
of fuel in oil will ruin any engine fast! You should know that.

I'd unscrew the float bowl and take a peek. Mine ran rich, then quit
and spewed gas out the intake and I found that the float asembly had
come completely undone and was laying in the bottom of the float bowl.

I did some enlightened guessing and was able to reassemble
perfectly..voila!.. It then and does now, run fine. I was appalled to
find that my float pivot pin was held by a standard chamfer brass
machine screw. That makes no sense to me but that's what is in there
... for now.
