Looking at a lot of back issues and covers i noticed the fisherman/guides wear
either plaid or red shirts. I think it is good to look the part.....if your
fishing. It wouldn't be a bad idea if there was some uniformity in dress code
at the NWC...and not necessarily columbia wear.

Yeah, Al , go ahead and wear some bright color like red,
that ought to do something to your catch ratio.

I have a book that highlights last 100 years of outdoor life (from the magazine
of the same name) in pictorial format. It is quite an eye opener to look at
those pictures. There is pictures of hunting and fishing. It is one of 33
fishing books i have on a shelf. I even have the book Spoon Plugging by Buck
Perry...the Daddy of structure fishing.

I have never really considered color above water as a fish deterrent. I wonder
what effects some of these gaudy bass boats have on their owners success?

(I refuse to say what color my boat is!)

Good question. Granted, the post about apparel, especially the dress
code for the NWC, was meant to get a reaction, and it will, but what
about this? How 'bout all those "glitter" boats. And what about
clothing? Dark colors during the day. White at night, since it has
been said dark lures for night fishing? Should I stop wearing my Lime
Green leisure suit? (just wanted to see how old you guys are) :-)

I used to avoid washing mine below the rubrail 'cause of this. Now I avoid
washing the whole thing:)

I knew you would be....quite a library...eh.I know where to get "Advanced
Custom Rod Making" for $25 Cdn. Is that a good buy....The book on spoon
plugging i think will be good for fishing for Lakers.These books are somewhat
creating a new chapter in my life.
