I will be slot-canyon hiking in the Grand Canyon this Spring. This will
involve a lot of slogging through rocky streams. My pack will be about 60 lbs
(photog equip, and food and all) and I don't want to wear sandals or tennis
shoes. I have Asolo Globaline non-Goretex boots, and I don't mind getting
these wet, just don't want my feet to get wet, macerated, blistered, etc. I
probably should have at least mid-calf high waterproof sock.

Without testing each product, does anyone have an opinion on the following:

Goretex vs. Neoprene vs SealSkinz?

(also, if SealSkinz are a good choice, where to buy them? It doesn't look like
REI or Campmoor carry them anymore)

Thanks,

John

Campmor and REI still carry SealSkinz, just got one a couple weeks ago
from Campmor. It works very well and and keeps my feet dry. Don't know
how durable it is though, since I've only used it once. The reason I
didn't choose the Goretex stuffs was that I heard it it didn't last long.

GO WITH THE GOR-TEX

I can tell you that they are much better because I ended up taking back a
pair of seal skins that were a waste of money....I bought a pair of GOR_TEX
from Cabela's and they are amazing......

Do you have share in GORE ?

There are severall other compagny producing expand teflon.

Before GOR-TEX there was waterproof stuf. My tent is nylon without
GORE stuf and I think it's waterproof.

I'm sure you meant breathing waterproof not exactly the same.
